Designed for candidates who have already invested in ITIL v3, the ITIL 4 Managing Professional Transition module provides a straight-forward transition path across to ITIL 4.

The Transition module enables candidates to gain the up-to-date skills and knowledge needed to navigate the digital service economy, whilst recognizing their previous achievements. It consists of a mandatory 5-day training and exam at the end of the course.

The Managing Professional (MP) stream provides practical and technical knowledge about how to run successful IT-enabled services, teams, and workflows.

The Transition module covers the key concepts introduced in ITIL 4 Foundation, as well as important elements of the below modules from ITIL 4 Managing Professional:

  • ITIL 4 Specialist Create, Deliver and Support
  • ITIL 4 Specialist Drive Stakeholder Value
  • ITIL 4 Specialist High-velocity IT
  • ITIL 4 Strategist Direct, Plan, and Improve.

ITIL 4 MP has been created for IT practitioners working within technology and digital teams across businesses.

This is a blended course, a combination of eLearning and 4 one-to-one progress/revisions, at your pace.  You manage your study time and schedule the appointments in the trainer's diary for your one-to-one sessions.

IT practitioners who have taken ITIL 4 Foundation and wish to continue their journey to ITIL Managing professional, and those who are responsible for managing all aspects of IT where ‘time is of the essence’.

To obtain the designation ITIL 4 Managing Professional or ITIL 4 Strategic Leader, the candidate must complete all modules in each stream, with ITIL Strategist being a universal module for both streams.

The target group of the ITIL Managing Professional Transition is drawn from:

  • ITIL Experts and practitioners with significant experience in IT service management (at least 17 credits in ITIL v3)

This may include but is not limited to, IT professionals, business managers, and business process owners.

To enable students to prepare for and sit the examination for the ITIL 4 Managing Professional Transition, and thereby earn the right to use the designation ITIL Managing Professional.

This is an instructor led classroom course that uses a combination of lectures, practical group discussions, group assignments and sample exam to provide the student with an understanding of the essential differences between ITIL v3 (2011) and ITIL 4 at the ‘expert’ level, and to prepare them for the Managing Professional Transition examination. The course culminates in a 90-minute, formal examination administered by an agent of the Examining Institute. The exam takes the form of a closed book, multiple choice examination comprising 40 questions lasting for one hour. The pass score is 70% (28 out of 40).

The prerequisite for this course is ITIL Expert (however achieved) or 17 ITIL v3 credits.
